English - What we do

The home of Butul is located on Manžan which is a village located near by Koper. You can reach the home of  Butul from Ljubljana or Triest direction, where from the highway in Koper You must turn right and look a exit for Pula direction. After 2 km straight, near the Merkator center, You must turn left in the crossroad for Vanganel and Marezige direction. After passing Šalara and a turning for Kampel You reach a board where a left turne will lead You up in the hill for reach a Manžan village. Two sharp curves passing by a greenhouse and vine and You are already at the home of Butul.  

From there is a marvelous view on the Koper bay and beyond the sea till Italy. If You look on the north You can see till the highest mountain in Slovenia witch name is Triglav  and is located in the Julian Alps. From the center of Koper we are only 5km away and the distance from the sea is the same. You can arrive till us also by a bus.

At the home of Butul is everytime interesting. We are located on a beautifull location where on a high of exactly 100m a Mediterranean  and continental air mix. Near the smell of the sea and a charm of Mediterranean spices We come in the touch with a olive-tree and olive-oil which We are very proud.

At us You can buy extra virgin oil. Cherry-trees and fig-trees adorn the neighbourhood. Aipple-trees, pears-tree and peach-trees are from the blossom to the juicy fruits something special. Vines of Refošk and Malvazija are not just for an sample but are beside the olive-oil which is called the yellow gold, like king and queen of the Slovenia Istria region also at our home. On more than one hectare large terrain We have in good ordered park under oak trees  and palms, where everyone can find his peace. The smell of rosemary, lavender, thyme and salvia is inspirable and recognizable. At our place We have also healing points where You can relieve Your pain. We can said that We are in haven where in good stay anyone that comes here with good intentions, is everytime welcomed. Everyone that desires to rest itself or if he wants active moments and days, beside new knowledge of himself, manner of healthy nutrition and preparation of foot is on the right way to know something new and genuine. In July we are visited by creators on the literal workshops on the traditional Extempore. In the November there is a Tracking race for Kakis trophy going on between Manžan and Pomjan, during the week We have in our rooms a weekly lessons on a theme of Health, at least once per month We are arranging workshops of Mediterranean cuisine, a few time per Year literal nights, cuisine nights, where We taste the magic of the Mediterranean kitchen, We listen to the known at less known music groups, etc. Briefly, on Manžan and in a Koper countryside We give a pulse of modernity that is tight correlated to the past but orientated to the future. 

For You we organize birthdays celebrations, business and social meetings. For You we arrange ideas and We shape a pleasant day, night or afternoon. Who collaborates in that, for shore he can found something for himself like there was someone and like someone already has found something for himself in the past. We advise You where to go for the near by trips and adventures. From Manžan leads the ways to the Koper’s countryside where Your have something to see.  The magic city of Piran is from Manžan distant only 15 minutes by car. On the recreational ways, bicycle paths, tennis playgrounds, bow fields You can go by car from our courtyard, by walk or by bicycle. We can take You to see the magic charm of Karst that is distance only 30 km. You can take a look to the wonderful Oases of Karst – Lipica, the caves of  Škocjan and You can visit the magic of the underground in the caves of Postojna. We are only 150 km a way from Venice and only 15 km from Triest. You can visit the Croatian Istra by bicycles or by car.

THE STORY OF THE OLIVE TREE – »THE QUEEN OF THREES« 

More then 6.000 years men educates this wonderful three because of oil. For the Ancient Greeks this three was sacred and it gave to the goddess Athen a popular personality. 

The olive tree is a symbol of peace and advance. Also a pigeon has bring one branch on the Noe’s both. In that time they use olive oil in nutrition, in care of the body, in medicine for the massage of athletes and like a fuel in the torches and in the sacrament of christening.  

Today we know that olive oil is also good to treat  patients ill of ulcer on the stomach because it cleanse the veins, stimulates the heart and the digestion, helps to treat the stomach stones and livers problems,  prevents osteoporoses and tumors, helps diabetes patients and has a good impact on the skin.   

We have heard a legend  about a olive tree. “The trees have meat on the world congress where they were choosing for a Queen of the trees. Because of the importance of the olive oil trees fruits to the people, they have decided to assign this noble title to the Olive Tree.

When olive tree has acknowledged this decision, she has return thanks, but because of her modesty, she refuse to accept such a title and explained to the others that she wants to serve the people and not to govern to them. Because of that, the olive tree is not the queen of threes but beside of that one of the most beautiful threes that grows on the Earth.” We are proud that We have it also in our courtyard.  

In the home of Butul We are continuing with the tradition of Oil growing in Slovenia Istra region. We have plant almost 200 olive trees. Some of them have more than 100 years. 2005 We are once again proud on the production of our extra virgin oil. We have picked up our olives with our friends and acquaintances, among of them there were also four participants in the Olympic games. Igor Primc, Primož Kozmus, Peter Zupanc and Miroslav Vodovnik. Miroslav Vodnik has also reach the finals in the discipline of Shot Put where to the best it was given a honor to play on the ancient stadium in Athens. On the stadium where to the best athletes already on the end of the 19th century a olive crown was confer. In this way We have this year on the House of Butul a Olympic Olive Oil.  We are proud of them like on everything We cultivate and produce. We like to share good things with other people.
